Why “Chemical-Free” Isn’t Really a Thing
You’ve probably spotted “chemical-free” on a beauty label and thought, sounds nice. But here’s a little fun fact: everything is technically a chemical. Water is a chemical. Aloe vera is full of them. Even the morning cup of tea that gets you moving is made up of chemicals.
So when a product says “chemical-free,” what it really means is that it doesn’t contain certain synthetic ingredients. The intention is good, but the wording can be a little confusing.
At BodFood, we’d rather keep things simple. We use ingredients that are safe, effective, and kind to your hair, whether they’re plant-based or science-backed. Panthenol, glycerin, rice protein… they might sound “chemical,” but they’re also gentle, purposeful, and what makes your hair look and feel great.
The way we see it, it’s not about avoiding chemicals altogether (impossible, really), it’s about choosing the right ones and leaving out the ones that don’t serve you.
If you’re ever curious about what’s in your products, skip the slogans and check the ingredient list. That’s where the real story is.
With love,
The BodFood Team
